Can Changing Your Light Change Your Life?
Yes! In more ways than you might think...
What's the light source for everything on this planet? The Sun. It contains a rainbow of energy wavelengths that living organisms need for life and health. We need indoor lighting that closely matches outdoor sunshine.
Light from Indoor Sunshine® CFL light bulbs and tubes are the closest match to natural sunlight. Indoor Sunshine includes the wavelengths the body requires for physical, mental and psychological health.
Outdoor Sunshine is 100 CRI 5500 K
Indoor Sunshine is 95 CRI 5500 K
Indoor Sunshine CFLs and tubes are
the closest match to natural sunshine
and they save energy!
Indoor Sunshine® - Good for You. Good for the Planet.®
"We have been running an experiment on ourselves [under yellow-orange indoor light from standard incandescent bulbs, CFLs and cool white fluorescent tubes] for the past hundred years or so.
It's not going well."
Christopher F. Back, Lighting Consultant, Boulder, Colorado
The flicker-free Indoor Sunshine light must be full spectrum light (picture a rainbow), not a distorted or partial spectrum light like other spiral CFLs. It's the result of years of research and development.
Indoor Sunshine light is an easy-on-the-eyes white light with a small amount of ultraviolet light, those invisible wavelengths of light that cause the body to produce vitamin D, the Sunshine Vitamin. The UV light must be in the same proportion that it is in sunlight, just not as intense.

A GE Soft White Bulb is on the left and an Indoor Sunshine bulb is on the right. This photo was taken in front of a white wall. It's unretouched.

Please note that the Christmas Cactus is growing and flowering toward the Indoor Sunshine light, not the window in this cloudy climate.
All Indoor Sunshine products - CFLs, tubes and light boxes - are quiet, non-flickering, and full spectrum. Full spectrum light can
- Raise serotonin levels, so we're calmer and more alert
- Help us see better
- Reduce fatigue
- Boost concentration and productivity in offices & schools
- Support a healthy immune system
- Increase calcium and vitamin D3 levels
- Reduces Sundowner's Syndrome - that feeling of sleepiness and lack of concentration and alertness when the sun goes down
- Approved by plants and animals

Research published in 2002 identified a third type of photoreceptor cell in the eye, called RGC, or Retinal Ganglion Cell. The RGC connects to the hypothalamus in the brain and, together with the pituitary, controls our body clock, our hormones, our moods, and the dilation of our irises in the eyes. This cell registers only light with a sky-blue wavelength. The blue wavelengths activate this cell that tells us when to wake up and when to go to sleep. We truly are "solar-powered." Indoor Sunshine is the only light in the world designed with this new knowledge in mind.
